A simple google search will turn up hundreds of contractors that would love to work on your project. The problem is how finding the right company for you!
The first and easiest thing to do is to check if they are licensed and insured. This can be done by doing some research on lara.com or by contacting that company and asking for the necessary documents.
While licensing and insurance are must haves it doesn’t show you the craftsmanship or quality you will be getting. We would always suggest looking at reviews and social media for pictures of past work. Usually, a company can provide a reference but sometimes clients with relevant work done value their privacy but it never hurts to ask!
One more thing to look for is great communication. Remodeling house won’t always go as planned, we never know what is behind the walls until we get started so there may be changes to the plan. Any deviations should be met with options and how it affects budget (its not always bad) and followed up with signed change orders that detail the changes of scope and any other necessary info (timing, delays, cost, etc.). This way throughout the whole project you are up to date on the work being done, the cost and timeline. Again, those things can be fluid in remodeling, especially bigger jobs, but as a client you should be aware of deviations and that all starts with upfront, honest and quick communication.
Veritas Homes prides itself on being a leading contractor in our area, this means being licensed (LIC #262200331) and insured. We try to keep our social media and website up to date so you can follow along on our current projects and see our completed portfolio. Remodeling doesn’t need to be stressful, if your contractor is educating and communicating clearly you should be able to track progress easily and have an exciting vision for the days ahead!
